I am a freelance Dutch media journalist who has a huge passion for British television, particularly drama – from Doctor Who and The Crown to Downton Abbey and Last Tango in Halifax.
For over thirty years I have written articles, background stories and interviews about British TV which appear regularly in leading Dutch and Belgian newspapers and TV listings magazines, such as De Telegraaf, Televizier, Mikro Gids and Humo.
I've also begun to take a keen interest in Scandinavian crime drama as well as Dutch TV classics from the 1960s to the present day.
I have a huge passion for British television, particularly drama.
My stories
I aim to inform my readers about the production process of a programme, what they can expect from a series, and why Dutch and Belgian viewers should watch it.
I generally avoid prying in interviews but may ask the occasional personal question to add some extra colour to my pieces.
Host & presenter
In conjunction with BBC Studios I have hosted several BBC FIRST events such as the launch of The Durrells of Corfu, Maigret and the first talent-led superfan event in the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam around the popular BBC TV dramas Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise.
On behalf of our national broadcaster NPO, and in particular KRO-NCRV, I have presented several British crime drama live fan events showcasing Midsomer Murders, Taggart, Hinterland and A Touch of Frost.

My network
Over a long career in TV journalism I have built up an extensive network of contacts in both Dutch and British media and I am able to guarantee exclusive interviews with top actors, producers and writers from leading British TV dramas, documentaries and comedy shows.
I am now looking to use my journalistic skills and key industry contacts to widen my horizons, explore new territories and enjoy new challenges.
My book
Lastly, have I told you about my first book, Hallo Meneer de Uil – De Fabeltjeskrant (Hello to Mr Owl – The Daily Fable)?
A comprehensive guide to a Dutch TV institution which explores every aspect of the world of The Daily Fable. It includes lots of unforgettable stories about this wonderful Dutch programme, its unique characters Mr Owl, Miss Stork and Boris the Wolf, and its national and international history.
